Girl of Streets

Maria is a 12 years girl from Scotland. Her parents died when she was only 5. She lived on the streets of Edinburgh. She was really poor since she can not even buy any food. She had to beg people on the streets to give her some leftover food. She never went to school since she can not afford the tuition, so she can barely understand words. She had no friends since she lived on the streets. She hates everything about herself. The only thing she loves about herself is her pretty red hair. Her hair is so pretty and long at night, just like fire. And the only cloth she got is a blue dress her mother gave to her. Her dream is to be a rich and educated person. She would like to do anything to achieve this goal.

Maria is walking on the street at midnight. She feels so hungry and exhausted. Suddenly, a strong bright light appears in front of her. She can not even open her eyes. A few seconds later, she opens her eyes slowly. An old lady stands in front of her. The old lady is in a giant black cloak. Since there is no light nearby and the old lady has the black cloak on, she can't really see the old lady's face clearly. The old lady smells so bad, just like a carious fish in a litter bin. The old lady keeps silent. Maria feels scared and curious. She starts to uncover the old lady's cloak, the old lady suddenly grabs Maria's arm. Maria sees the old lady's hand and arm, the old lady's skin just looks like what it smells like----carious skin. Maria feels so scared and she starts to run away, but the old lady grabs her so hard so she can't move. The old lady says, "Do you want to be rich and educated?" Maria says, "Yes, sure." The old lady replies, "I am a witch, so I can make you rich and acknowledged, but there is a thing you have to do for me. You need to see the Dagon King in the East Sea Dragon Palace. And ask him to give you the ancient weapon----Jingubang. After this, you need to give me the Jingubang, and then I will make you the richest person in the world." Since Maria is uneducated at all, she believes what the old lady says easily. She jumps into the ocean and swims to the East Sea. When she arrives in the East Sea, she can barely see anything. It is really dark in the deep ocean. Her hair starts to illuminate and her blue dress turns to a big net. There are two redfish pass by, she captures these two redfish and asks them how to go to East Sea Dragon Palace. These two redfish see her red hair and become so scared, they let Maria follow them and they will take her to the East Sea Dragon Palace. Dragon king cames out after they arrived. Maria asks Dragon King, "Where is Jingubang? I am here to get this ancient weapon." Dragon King says, "My dear god, here is Jingubang. I am here to give it to you." Maria feels shocked and asks Dragon King, "What did you just call me? I am not god, I am just Maria. Just Maria." Dragon King explains, "Your illuminated red hair represents that there is god's blood in you. You are Princess Maria. Your parents are not your real parents but your servants. You are actually the daughter of YuDi which is the King of Gods. Jingubang is a gift for your 12 years old birthday." Kaaaaaaa---- Lightning made a loud noise. Maria wakes from her sleep. She opens her eyes and then she realizes that she is still on the bench. Everything just happened is a dream.
